1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember your session, keep you logged in, store preferences, and in some cases track usage. Some cookies are essential for a website to function; others are optional and, where required, need your consent before being set. Folex Auto Market also uses browser localStorage — a similar technology — to store your display preference (light or dark mode). This is described further in Section 4 below.

2. Cookies We Currently Use

Folex Auto Market currently uses only essential and preference-related cookies and local storage. No optional analytics or marketing cookies are in use at this time. Authentication and session cookies (Essential) Supabase, our database and authentication provider, sets HTTP-only session cookies when you log in. These cookies: • keep you securely signed in during your session; • manage your authentication token and session refresh; • are required for role-based dashboard access (buyer, seller, dealer, admin); • are cleared when you sign out. These are strictly necessary and cannot be disabled. OAuth flow cookies (Essential / Technical) When you use the "Continue with Google" sign-in option, two short-lived cookies are temporarily set: • folex_pending_signup_role — stores your selected account role during the Google sign-in redirect (Max-Age: 10 minutes, SameSite: Lax). • folex_pending_signup_mode — stores whether you are registering or logging in during the redirect (Max-Age: 10 minutes, SameSite: Lax). These cookies are automatically cleared after the sign-in process completes and are not used for tracking. Session storage (Essential / Technical) During the login flow, a temporary entry is stored in your browser's sessionStorage to prevent redirect loops. This is cleared when you close the browser tab and is not used for tracking or personalisation.

3. Local Storage — Display Preferences

Folex Auto Market uses your browser's localStorage to remember your display preference — light mode, dark mode, or system default. This preference is stored locally on your device and is not sent to our servers. It does not contain any personal data and is not used for tracking. You can clear this preference at any time by clearing your browser's site data or local storage, or by changing your preference in the top navigation menu.

4. Analytics Cookies

Analytics cookies are not currently active on Folex Auto Market. No analytics provider (such as Google Analytics, Vercel Analytics, PostHog, Plausible, or any similar service) is currently connected to the platform. No analytics tracking scripts are loaded and no analytics cookies are set. If we introduce analytics tools in the future, we will: • Update this Cookie Policy before activation. • Describe what data is collected and by which provider. • Seek your consent where required before loading any analytics scripts.

5. Marketing and Advertising Cookies

Marketing and advertising cookies are not currently active on Folex Auto Market. We do not use Google Ads, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, Hotjar, or any similar advertising or remarketing technology. No such cookies are set on this platform. If marketing cookies are introduced in the future, we will update this policy and will not load any marketing scripts without your explicit consent.

6. Third-Party Cookies

Some third-party services we use may set their own cookies or use similar technologies: Paystack: When you make a payment on the Platform, you are interacting with Paystack's payment interface. Paystack may set cookies or use browser storage in connection with its payment processing and fraud prevention systems. These are governed by Paystack's own privacy and cookie policy. Supabase: As our database and authentication provider, Supabase sets the session cookies described in Section 2. Supabase's infrastructure and data handling is governed by Supabase's own terms and privacy policy. Vercel: Our hosting provider. Vercel may collect request-level metadata (including IP addresses) as part of serving the Platform. This is described in Vercel's own privacy policy. We do not embed third-party advertising, social media tracking pixels, or content widgets that would set third-party tracking cookies without your knowledge.

7. Managing Your Cookies

You can manage cookies in the following ways: Browser settings: Most browsers allow you to view, block, or delete cookies through their settings or preferences menu. You can also set your browser to notify you when cookies are being set. Clearing site data: You can clear all cookies and local storage for Folex Auto Market through your browser's "Clear site data" or similar function. Important: Disabling or clearing essential cookies — particularly Supabase session cookies — will sign you out of your account and prevent you from accessing dashboard features. Essential cookies are required for the platform to function and cannot be replaced by optional alternatives. Your display preference (dark/light mode) stored in localStorage will also be cleared if you clear site data, and will revert to your system default on your next visit.

8. Cookie Consent Banner

Folex Auto Market does not currently display a cookie consent banner because only essential and preference-related cookies and local storage are in use. A consent banner is generally required when a website sets optional cookies — such as analytics or marketing cookies — that are not strictly necessary.
