Safety Centre

Folex Auto Market is committed to keeping buyers, sellers, and dealers safe. Read our safety guidance before buying or selling a vehicle.

Buyer Safety Tips

Always inspect the vehicle in person before making any payment.

Verify proof of ownership, customs papers, roadworthiness certificate, and vehicle licence.

Check the VIN/chassis number against official government records.

Confirm customs clearance papers for all foreign used (tokunbo) vehicles.

Never send large deposits to a seller you have not met and verified in person.

Be cautious of prices that are significantly lower than market value — this is a major fraud signal.

Avoid sellers who refuse phone calls, in-person inspections, or document checks.

Do not share your personal bank details or BVN with any seller.

Meet at a safe, public location for the initial meeting.

Consider hiring a qualified mechanic to inspect the vehicle before purchase.

Use the Report feature for any listing that seems suspicious or dishonest.

Contact Folex Auto Market Support if you believe you are being targeted by a scam.

Promptly mark listings as sold to avoid misleading buyers.

Respond professionally to all buyer enquiries.

Reporting Suspicious Listings

Use the "Report listing or seller" button on any vehicle listing to submit a fraud or safety report. You can report: fake adverts, suspicious sellers, wrong prices, stolen images, vehicles already sold, abusive sellers, and duplicate listings.

After a fraud report is submitted, our moderation team will review it within 24 hours. Depending on the report, we may: contact the seller, request more information, warn the seller, suspend the listing, suspend the user account, or refer to law enforcement. All reports are confidential — your identity is kept anonymous.

Payment Safety

Folex Auto Market does not handle vehicle payments between buyers and sellers. All vehicle payments are made directly between you and the seller.

Subscription fees paid to Folex Auto Market are processed securely via Paystack. We never ask for payment via bank transfer for subscription fees.

If anyone asks you to pay a vehicle deposit to a 'Folex Auto Market account', this is a scam. Report it immediately.

Verify seller identity and vehicle documents before any payment.
