Buyer Safety Tips
- Always inspect the vehicle in person before making any payment
- Verify ownership documents — proof of purchase, vehicle licence, customs papers
- Check the VIN/chassis number against official government records
- Confirm customs clearance papers for foreign used vehicles
- Never send a deposit to a seller you have not met in person
- Be suspicious of prices that are too good to be true
- Avoid sellers who refuse phone calls or inspections
- Use our official enquiry form — do not share personal bank details in messages
- Meet in a public place for initial discussions
- Consider paying a mechanic to inspect the car before purchase
- Report suspicious adverts using the 'Report this advert' button
Red Flags to Watch Out For
- Seller asks for full payment before you see the car
- No phone number or only WhatsApp communication
- Car is priced far below market value with no explanation
- Seller claims to be abroad or cannot meet in person
- Pressure to buy quickly ('many people are interested')
- Photos look stock or identical to images on other sites
- VIN/chassis number does not match the vehicle documents
